Before requesting a quotation or planning a replacement, confirm whether the application measures differential pressure, level by hydrostatic differential pressure, flow across a primary element, or another process variable. The installed process connection, impulse arrangement, mounting position, measured medium, operating pressure and temperature can all affect the required configuration.
Replacing an Existing Transmitter: What to Provide
For an existing instrument, the most reliable starting point is the full order code and a clear nameplate photo. These details help identify configuration elements that may not be visible in the short model number, including the measuring cell, pressure range, process connection, wetted materials, output, approval options, display, accessories and software version. Do not treat a family name as proof that two instruments are interchangeable.
Specifying a New Installation
For a new installation, provide the minimum and maximum operating differential pressure, static pressure, temperature range, medium, connection standard, required output or communication protocol, certificate requirements, quantity, destination country and requested delivery date. Where the transmitter is used for flow measurement, include the primary element type and the relevant process design data. Where it is used for level measurement, include vessel geometry, impulse-line conditions and any process constraints that affect mounting.
